Learn to knit your first Triangle Shawl! The Grain Shawl by Tin Can Knits is the perfect beginner friendly shawl pattern to showcase your favourite yarns or colours.

Students will learn how to: do a provisional cast on; increase using yarn overs; change yarns/colours; darn in ends & block your shawl.

Prerequisites: Novice Beginner Knitting skills, students should be able to cast on, knit, purl, & bind off.

Materials Needed:

• Pattern: Flax Worsted by Tin Can Knits available for free on Ravelry or TCK Website

• Worsted weight: 549 m / 600 yds Worsted/Aran weight yarn such as Cascade 220, Estelle SW Worsted or CopperSpoon Worsted, & 5.5mm 32” circular needles
• ~OR~
• DK Weight: 640 m / 700 yds of DK weight yarn such as Estelle Double Knit, Bramble Ridge DK or any of our amazing selection of Indy Dyed DK  & 4.5mm 32” circular needles
• Stitch Markers
• Darning Needle

Jackie is an avid knitter, fibre artist & teacher. She appreciates how knitting keeps your brain sharp while still being so meditative, restorative and creative. She loves teaching knitting to new students and sharing all the helpful tools, tips and tricks she’s learned over the years.
