Not Nevessarily Oeko-Tex Safe Yarn |

Nice yarn, but unfortunately the yarn I got is not Oeko-tex certified, as mentioned in the description :( This was the primary reason I purchased from here and I later learned on the premier yarns website when searching for other colours that only yarn lots made AFTER the date of 06/04/2021 are Oeko-tex certified and the lot dates on the butterscotch and guava pop yarns I bought were from 2017-2018 so that was quite disappointing to find out. As these are on sale, I assume the majority of this stock is from yarn lots dating before the certification, so just a heads up to double check the date near the UPC/barcode if you are purchasing primarily for this certification! It's possible the processes/materials used in the earlier lots/batches were still manufactured in a way that could be oeko-tex safe and that the company just didn't have the official certification yet, but it's also possible they did have to make some safety/toxicity tweaks but I don't have time to contact premieres customer service for an official response on the old lots and so I will be finding a different use than intended for these yarns to be on the safe side!
