Claire and Tihson, is the creative duo from Victoria, BC, behind CopperSpoon Dye Company. These hand-dyed fingering-weight superwash merino yarns are created out of a love for a keystone species in the Pacific Northwest - Salmonids.
Indulge in the softness of these 3-ply superwash merino/nylon blend fingering yarn; designed to elevate your projects to new levels of comfort and elegance. CopperSpoon's yarn is museling free, milled right here in Canada, and reverently hand-dyed in Victoria BC/Lək̓ʷəŋən (Lekwungen) Territory by Claire and Tihson.
Claire and Tihson have been volunteering at their local salmon hatchery since 2025.
Each colour in the series represents a life stage of various salmon species: Coho embryos in their eggs, Goldstream River Coho fry that they work with directly, Chinook as adults in the Pacific Ocean, Sockeye during their spawn, and Chum as they decay and feed the forest. To honour the lands that they inhabit, the SENĆOŦEN language names are used for each species of Salmonid in its life stage.
