Claire and Tihson, is the creative duo from Victoria, BC, behind CopperSpoon Dye Company. These hand-dyed worsted-weight superwash merino yarns are created out of a love for a keystone species in the Pacific Northwest - Salmonids.
4-ply superwash Merino worsted yarn, designed to be next-to-skin comfortable, yet durable enough to wear through the years. CopperSpoon's yarn is museling free, spun right here in Canada, and reverently hand-dyed in Victoria BC/Lək̓ʷəŋən (Lekwungen) Territory by Claire and Tihson.
Claire and Tihson have been volunteering at their local salmon hatchery since 2025.
Each colour in the series represents a life stage of various salmon species: Coho embryos in their eggs, Goldstream River Coho fry that they work with directly, Chinook as adults in the Pacific Ocean, Sockeye during their spawn, and Chum as they decay and feed the forest. To honour the lands that they inhabit, the SENĆOŦEN language names are used for each species of Salmonid in its life stage.
