Looking for a fun stylish quick to knit cardigan? The Nanaimo Cardigan by Canadian designer, Tara-Lynn Morrison of Good Night Day, is a simple, easy to follow pattern for a modern raglan cardigan that uses bulky wool and big needles.

Knit top down on circular needles with a seamless construction, this oversized pattern uses two main sizes: S/M + L/XL as a basic guideline and then we will discuss in class how to adjust for a custom fit.

Techniques Learned: top down seamless construction, raglan shaping, increasing & decreasing, custom shaping & how to pick up stitches for your sleeves.

Prerequisites:

Advanced Beginner / Novice knitting skills; Student need to be able to cast on, knit, purl & cast off.

Notes on Yarn Options: We will have a lovely selection of Cascade Magnum in limited colours specifically for this class, please contact us for colours available in store. Please see here for possible colour choices to pre order. It would need to be ordered min 4 weeks prior to the start of class and will depend on availability at the supplier. While we will do our best to bring those in we cannot guarantee they will be available to us to order.

• Pattern: Nanaimo Cardigan by Good Night, Day. Available to purchase on Ravelry or Good Night,Day
• Yarn: Approx 320 - 520 m (350-570 m) of super bulky yarn such as Cascade Magnum based on size.
• Needles: a set of each of the following (or size to obtain gauge)
  • 8 mm (US 11) 16” circular knitting needles
  • 10 mm (US 15) 24-32” circular knitting needles
  • 15 mm (US 19) 24-32” circular knitting needles
• Stitch markers (large to fit needles)
• Scissors
• Darning needle for bulky yarn
• Pen

DATES: Mondays, January 12, 19, February 2, 9 and 16th from 6:00-8:00 pm.

*Please note the extra week between the 2nd & 3rd sessions to allow for extra knitting time.
